Canopy Detail

This is the first of three related interactive installations which appear at first to be minimalist constructions. I want them to be appreciated for their simple high tech geometric, white on white beauty. Yet, when glimpsed through a polarizing filter, a glorious old gnarly tree appears and in its colorful complexity forms a total contrast to the first impression. The work is intended to be integrated into an environment including stationary and rotatable viewers.

Polage® art 60″ x 60″ x 10″ depth. Work is installed by attaching stand-offs and fluorescent fixtures to wall.
