“As a child one of my favorite things to do was to lie in a field of tall grass and watch all the life going on around me at ground level. I wanted to study Nature and I think, if I had not been drawn into art, I would have become a biologist.” — Austine This unique triptych work celebrates the abundant life of the meadow and the interdependence of all its inhabitants.
This is one of Austine’s first works created with a new technology that took her and her husband over 4 years of work to develop. The image is created the same way as her other Polage® art but the continuous changes are caused, not with a motor but with electronic signals sent to a special liquid crystal panel custom made for this purpose. Austine can “choreograph” the change to complement the work or to match the environment in which it will be displayed. The light source is a very energy-efficient LED panel. Compared with the artist’s motorized light boxes this new type of Polage® art is lighter thinner and has no moving parts. The work consists of 3 framed pieces all controlled by a single circuit board so they change in synchrony. The music accompanying this video is not a part of the artwork. It is added as a soundtrack for the Internet only. Your comments are welcome.
