Austine’s more abstract pieces often feature movement, especially when they’re displayed in a light box with a motorized filter hidden behind the art. The gradual change of color and the gradations in the design give the sensation of undulating movement. Balance in one’s life and in the world were something that Austine believed in and modeled. Curves from the natural elements, like the rock, clouds & planet and sharp linear forms in the manmade elements, such as the columns, steps and a doorway create balance in this piece.
