Oregon Coastal Refuges Headquarters, Newport, OR

Commisioned by and for the Oregon Coastal Refuges Headquarters, this motorized Polage mural measures 4′ x 5′ and is served by a 7′ diameter polarizing filter inside the wall where it is displayed. The image changes slowly and continually from the first view you see above with puffins to the second with ducks. This piece represents the two main populations of the area during the summer (puffins) and winter (ducks).

...until the polarizing filter is turned 90 degrees, whereupon the winter scene appears.
